The Fonti di Matilde Golf and Spa Resort has been designed by an international group of architects selected from the Alumni of The Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture, in collaboration with Pier Carlo Bontempi, a member of the INTBAU (The international network for traditional building, architecture and Urbanism). Like other organisations under the patronage of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, INTBAU works to promote and sustain the design of buildings, towns and cities to optimise the environment in which people live and which are able to pass the test of time with flying colours. The development has also won the prestigious Charter Award for excellence in a development on the outskirts of a town.

Apartments
The new residence is on the western edge of the golf course. The one and two bedroom apartments, built using high quality materials and craftsmen, are based on the traditional architecture of the region. Apartments range in size from 93 m2 to 158 m2, however designs can vary according to the requirements of clients, so larger apartments can be created if required. There is a strictly limited number of apartments available, for the select few, who will become neighbours to such Italian luminaries as Andrea Griminelli, the world famous Italian Flautist.

The development has recreated a typical, Italian village with stone paths that pass through the Piazzas of the village. Utmost attention has been paid to making the development environmentally friendly, secure, private and in keeping with the surrounding countryside and architecture.

Well-being Centre
Based on the designs of a Roman baths, there is a sauna, baths and spa. The waters of the spa have their origin on the resort's land and are noted for their healing qualities.

The Course
The course was designed by architect Marco Croze, a renowned golf course designer . It has 18 holes where the route followed by the players is a full 6,300 meters with a par of 72. Its hallmark is the considerable variety of the natural land contours created by the Quaresimo stream that wanders over its entire length. The gentle slopes and the thick vegetation make each round technically demanding, interesting and, above all, fun. The course offers wonderful panoramas and enchanting views of distant horizons offering an exhilarating sense of freedom in full contact with nature. A driving range with putting green and pitching green is available for practice. Club professionals are available for individual or group lessons.
