The castle of Casina dates from 1198 when it is first mentioned in the document "Memoriale Potestatum" which brought the area under the dominance of the Reggio Municipality. In 1315 the castle was built by Fogliani family, in whose hands it remained until 1468. The castle then became part of Conte Giangiacomo Bebbi demesne, who ruled there until the castle was destroyed by Domenico Amorotto. The Bebbi family rebuilt the castle, which was passed over to one of the Conte's liegemen Antonio Scapinelli in 1635.

The castle is noted for its two four sided towers that are easily visible in the distance. The castle surrounds a large internal courtyard with Pine trees. Apart from the towers the castle also has a main stone house and an additional stone house and chapel. Many of the original features remain, red terracotta floor tiles, fireplaces and chestnut and oak beams. Obviously the floor space of the property is extensive and it comes with approximately 8,000 m2 of land.

On the outside a characteristic chapel was built next to the garden that is surrounded by the antique medieval wall.
