Il festivale del Maggio
A medieval drama based on the chivalric idea of good and evil. The
players are in medieval dress and the storey is recounted entirely
in poetry and song There are dragons, serpents, knights and damsels
and the traditions stretches back hundreds of years. The festival
takes place every summer in various municipalities such as Toano and
Villa Minozzo.
Al Chiaro di Luna
A music and arts festival organised by the mountain community. There
are about twenty concerts performed in the most attractive locations
(castles, hamlets and churches)
Apennine Rally
The automobile club of Reggio Emilia organises a rally every summer
which attract visitors from all over the world. Given the enthusiasm
Italians have for life in general and fast cars in particular it always
proves to be a very popular event.
Historical Canossa
Every year in first week of September a series of fairs and events
takes place to celebrate and remember the life of the region’
most famous daughter, Queen Matilde. The week ends with a series of
medieval games and the participants are representatives of every municipality
of the region.
Castelnovo né Monti
Every year the town organises different events such as: Fresco Spesa,
Celtic folk festival which had The Chieftains headlining in 2003,
Fair of San Michele and antique markets.
